Modi’s Oath-taking Ceremony: Key Points

Narendra Modi begins his third term as India’s Prime Minister today. Several key leaders, including TDP’s Ram Mohan Naidu, Pemmasani Chandrashekhar, and JD (S)‘s H.D. Kumaraswamy, will be inducted into the Cabinet. Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Pralhad Joshi will also take the oath of office.
President Droupadi Murmu invited Modi to form the next government following his election as the leader of the National Democratic Alliance’s Parliamentary Party. NDA party leaders have expressed their support for the new government.
The swearing-in ceremony will be at 7.15 p.m. today. The NDA won 286 seats in this election, with the BJP securing 240, falling short of the majority mark.
The youngest-ever Union Minister in Modi’s new Cabinet will be TDP’s MP-elect Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu. Leaders from seven countries in South Asia and the Indian Ocean region will attend the ceremony.
